If you’ve been wanting to live more compassionately, a good place to start is with your home. Are you ready to give your living space a cruelty-free makeover? You can consciously create a home that feels like a sanctuary by upgrading your household products to those that and are healthy for you body, gently on the planet, and kind to animals. Because you deserve to be surrounded by products that nourish your body and soul—and because no animal should have to languish in a laboratory cage for the sake of a countertop spray.
In today’s video, Toni Okamoto and Michelle Cehn show you just how easy it is to do. They also share a few of their favorite cruelty-free products and their top tips for how to shop cruelty-free.
Cruelty-free means that a product has not been tested on animals. When a product is cruelty-free, it will usually be labeled with any number of cruelty-free bunny symbols or it may say something like “tested on hairdressers, not animals.” Just because a product is labeled cruelty-free does not mean that the product is vegan—it may still contain animal products. The opposite is true as well, a product may be vegan (made without any animal products in it), but it could still be tested on animals or owned by a parent company that uses animal testing. So be sure to look for a cruelty-free label and check the ingredient list!
