While you’ve listed Critter Creek in the Notable Sanctuaries section, it does not appear under the Florida section. It is located in Gainesville Florida and is the largest bovine sanctuary in the country.

Also missing in the Florida section is CJ Acres Animal Rescue Farm (www.cjacres.org) which is the longest-running farm sanctuary in the state…over 25 years old…and is highly-rated. It is located in Keystone Heights, Florida.

Hi, I know of three sanctuaries in Northern California not on your list, though I’ve only volunteered at two of them. The two I’ve volunteered at are Rancho Compassion in Nicassio, CA and One Living Sanctuary in Martinez, CA. The last is Charlie’s Acres in Sonoma, CA. Thanks for taking the time to make and maintain the list

There is a farm sanctuary in Newfane, NY as well. It is called Asha’s Farm Sanctuary.

Hi there – we would love to be listed on your list of sanctuaries… we are Institute for Animal Happiness in Woodstock, NY (Hudson Valley). We are a chicken-specific rescue and detail the care and accommodation here very carefully. We spent a ten year phase training at two of the large farm animal rescues in our area before going out on our own to stand up for chickens and avians who are farmed, because their care is so specialized. Our website is http://www.instituteforanimalhappiness.com (we need to switch to a .org but we started our journey working at other rescues and the site fundraised for others… then as we took in more birds to care for, we became a 501(c)3 ourselves in 2019. Please do drop the names of missing sanctuaries here in the comments as well as any notes you have about them (those are very helpful).
